The under construction ultra-modern sports parks in Dakha constituency would not only help in keeping thousands of people health and fit, but would also contribute in the development of villages. Due to the farsightedness of Dakha MLA Mr Manpreet Singh Ayali, funds for these sports parks are being spent in a planned manner and in such a way that these sports parks get ready and they would also get funds for the development of villages. While providing information, MLA Mr Manpreet Singh Ayali informed that a total of 60 sports parks and 16 volleyball courts are being developed in Dakha constituency. The sports park at Gujjarwal village has already been opened for people, whereas the sports park at village Dhaipai and other villages would be inaugurated soon. The sports parks at villages Chachrari, Jangpur, Sahauli, Rurka, Dhurkot, Latala, Bhattian Dhahan, Bhoondri, Dakha and Bharowal Kalan would be ready in next one months time, whereas the remaining parks would be ready in next three months time.

Mr Ayali informed that around Rs 60 lakh is being spent on the construction of each sports park. He said that at present, more than 4000 workers are working on these sports parks in Dakha constituency, are employed under MGNREGA. These workers are being issued remuneration of more than Rs 8 lakh daily. He informed that when a worker is employed under MGNREGA, at that time, 40 percent share is also issued for the purchase of material. He said that if Rs 8 lakh per day is paid to the workers, around Rs 5 lakh daily is issued for the purchase of material against it and this material is being spent on the development of villages.Mr Manpreet Singh Ayali informed that around Rs 60 lakh is being spent on the construction of these sports parks, simultaneously around Rs 16-17 lakh is generated for the development of villages. He said that when these sports parks would be ready, the staff for their maintenance would also be employed under MGNREGA, so funds for their upkeep would also be generated. In these sports parks, which are being constructed on around 4 acres of land, one would have facilities such as football ground, cricket pitch, hockey ground, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton ground, skating track, athletics track, indoor gym, swings for children, open air gym, sprinkler system, footpath for walk, huts, benches, footlights, floodlights and proper fencing from all sides. He said that these sports parks are being constructed in such a way that there would be no water accumulation during rainfall and there would be a system for recharging of underground water table or recycling it for irrigation.

Mr Ayali said that sadly in our country, only stages and stairs are being constructed in the name of sports stadiums and construction of an ultra modern sports ground for sportspersons was never on the agenda. He said that stage and stairs of a stadium are being put to use only once a year, whereas the sports ground can be used throughout the year. It is pertinent to mention that the sports park at village Latala is still under construction, but the village youth has already started a football league there, which clearly shows that the youth of Dakha constituency are eagerly waiting for using these sports parks. It is pertinent to mention here that being Chairman of Zila Parishad, Ludhiana, Dakha MLA Mr Manpreet Singh Ayali was honoured with a national level prize by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh after his project on upgradation and cleaning of village ponds, and using the same water for irrigation was successfully completed and adopted by the Government of India throughout the country. Mr Ayali himself admits that it was after receiving that National Prize that he got motivated for working further hard for other social causes, due to which he was elected the MLA of Dakha constituency.

Mr Ayali informed that people from all age groups, from one year old up to 80 year old, would keep himself fit by using these sports parks and they would prove beneficial for people from all walks of life. He said that any person can use these sports parks. He said that youngsters who had left sports in the absence of such infrastructure would once again get connected with sports. He said that every morning and evening, a large number of men and women use these sports parks for walking, which helps them remain fit.
