In the two days of violent clashes in Kashmir, the Valley hospitals on Sunday remained flooded with the injured civilians who received injuries during the clashes between youth and forces. The health officials informed KNS that hundreds of injured civilians are currently being treated in the Valley hospitals, who were injured during the clashes in different parts of Kashmir.Government Medical College (GMC) Principal, Dr Kaisar told KNS that 96 injured persons were admitted in two hospitals in Srinagar while more 22 were shifted to Srinagar hospitals in this afternoon. Dr Kaisar told KNS that, “106 youth are being treated in Srinagar’s Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital while 12 are being treated in Bone and Joint hospital in Barzulla.”“The youth have received bullet or pellet injuries,” he said.Dr Kaisar informed that four youth succumbed to their injuries during the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday while one youth from Pulwama who was shifted to hospital in the wee hours of this morning was declared brought dead.

SKIMS Medical Superintendent, Dr Farooq Jan told KNS that 33 injured were admitted in the hospital since Friday evening while three among them lost their lives. “Currently 30 youth are admitted in the hospital while three to four injured persons are in surgical ICU and are stable,” he said.Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Anantnag, Dr Majid Mirab told KNS that more than hundred people are currently being treated in the hospital. “They have received bullet and pellet injuries during the clashes and were admitted in the hospital for treatment,” he said.He said that he has not exact figures of the injured person but they are guessing that more than 100 injured persons are currently being treated in the hospital, adding that from Friday evening six persons succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

Reports reached to KNS that in several other district hospitals in Kashmir, various injured persons are admitted. According to KNS correspondent, 116 people were injured during the clashes between youth and forces while dozens of people were shifted to the hospitals for treatment. Pertinently, twelve youth were killed in forces firing in South Kashmir on Saturday while several others received injuries across Kashmir as the valley erupted in protests against the killing of a most popular militant and Hizb commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani and his two associates on Friday during an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.Reports said that in the cycle of ongoing violence in Kashmir since Saturday, the death toll across Kashmir has gone upto 21.Nonetheless, there was no official confirmation about the death toll of civilians killed during the clashes.
