Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today urged for successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the State so that majority of people are benefited.The Minister was speaking at a meeting with oil companies to review the progress of PMUY in the state.He said that after the successful implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) in State, the Government now wants to make sure that PMUY also attains the same success here.The Minister said that J&K should become number one state in implementing PMUY scheme. He assured full support by government to concerned agencies for making the scheme a grand success.

The Minister said that every Kerosene tanker would be installed with GPRS tracker for effective supply of fuel to all areas of the state. He directed the officials to ensure that no shortage of petrol and kerosene is felt in Leh and Kargil.He directed the oil companies to increase penetration of LPG connections by taking proactive steps like establishing LPG agencies in uncovered of the state.The meeting was attended by Secretary Consumer Affairs, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, other officials and representatives of HPL, BPL and IOC.
