DC Kulgam chairs fire service management meeting

In order to review the progress of Fire & Emergency Department a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kulgam here today.

The meeting had a thread bare discussion on preparedness of the Department to handle the fire incidents in the District. The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion directed the concerned department to keep fire tenders & adequate staff stationed at all stations in district to safe guard life & property of common masses. Deputy Commissioner on the occasion sought a detailed report along with map from PHE department for final preparation of DPR in vulnerable areas. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services to make proper shifting arrangements to staff posted in Fire Service Stations in district. It was given in the meeting that there are eight fire service stations working in entire District including Qazigund, Kulgam, Yaripora, Manzgam, D.H Pora, D.K Marag, Kund, & Behibagh. The Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services on the occasion stated that department is facing acute shortage of manpower to handle the fire incidents. The meeting was also attended by Executive Engineer PHE division Kulgam and inspectors of different Fire Service Stations.
