The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken suo-moto notice of the non-execution of development works in the areas inhabited by the SC community which fall under jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Kartarpur (Jalandhar).Disclosing this, the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that it had come to the light of the commission through some media reports that proper attention is not being paid to execute the development centric works in colonies and other areas having SC population which deprives them of the benefits of various welfare schemes of the state government. Taking serious and suo-moto notice of the unfortunate developments, the commission has instructed the Director, Local Bodies Department, Punjab to submit a report within 15 days.Mr. Bagha further said that the Punjab State SC Commission is fully committed to the welfare of people belonging to SC category and would leave no stone unturned to ensure the protection of their legitimate rights in accordance with the law.
