The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken notice of the recent developments in village Himmat Pura in district Moga where some women belonging to SC community were unjustly and fraudulently made to shell out extra amount of money on the pretext of helping those secure loans. Disclosing this here today, the Chairman of the commission Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that the commission had taken a suo-motto notice of the reports published regarding incidents in village Himmat pura in which Rs. 300 each were extorted from women belonging to the SC community in lieu of helping them fill the forms to secure Rs. 50,000 worth loan. The commission has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga to investigate the matter and submit the report within 15 days.Assuring a strong action against the erring, the Chairman Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that the commission would protect the rights of the SC community and nobody would be allowed to abuse the community in any way.
