In view of the recent complaints of cheating of tourists, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Director Tourism Kashmir Mr. Mehmood Ahmad Shah here today.

Those who participated include CEO, Gulmarg Dev Authority, SDPO Tangmarg, Dy. Director Enforcement (Tourism) SHO Gulmarg, SHO Tourist Police(TRC Srinagar), President Pony Walla Association, President Guide Association , President ATV/Snow scooter Association Gulmarg attended the meeting.It was decided that strict action will be taken against the culprits who are found  involved in cheating. Asst Director Tourism, Gulmarg, was directed to cancel the registration of offenders involved in two or more offences.In order to streamline the functioning of ponywallas, it was decided that identity cards would be issued jointly by Police and Tourism Department and the same process will be completed in weeks time. It was also agreed that pony wallas willing to to introduce battery operated vehicle shall be encouraged in  replacement of their horses.To keep world famous Gulmarg resort clean,the Director  asked CEO Gulmarg  and local municipal authorities to ensure clearance of garbage on day to day basis and the process of installation of bio digester, waste disintegrator and bio toilets be installed in a time bound manner so that the garbage is treated scientifically.
