Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq today informed the House that the existing pre-mixing plants would be mobilized to ensure macadamization of targeted roads fixed for current fiscal.Replying to a question by Mr. Rajeev Sharma, the Minister said that the Government is committed to provide better road connectivity to the people of the State. He said that in this regard the road projects sanctioned under different schemes for current fiscal would be taken up and targets to be achieved in full.The Minister also gave details of the material issued for tendered as well as departmental works and payment released to the contractors of Akhnoor constituency for the last three fiscals. He said that in Jammu under PMGSY the contractors offer item rates as per BOQ advertized with the NIT, which includes cost of material as well. He said that accordingly complete rates are allowed to the contractors including material and there is no such precedence in the department to issue material to the contractors.
