Police Thursday foiled protest march of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh All Department Clerical Staff Association (JKLADCSA) and detained scores of them.

The protestors assembled at Press Enclave here to press for their demands including removal of pay anomaly. The protestors amid anti-government slogans urged authorities to fulfill their long pending demands without any further delay.“While as the state government has already implemented recommendations partially and upgraded the pay scales of Patwaris, ASI’S and head constable of the police department vide SRO number 302 of 2013 , SRO No.27 of 2015 and vide order No.229-F of 2014, but clerical cadre was left-out,” said Malik Muhammad Farooq, General Secretary of the Association to CNS.“Government has recently set up another committee to look into the recommendations of the pay anomaly committee of 2012 and the whole clerical fraternity condemn the delaying tactics of the state government, as it is very astonishing that the state Government is giving step motherly treatment to the whole clerical cadre by ignoring the fact that the clerical cadre is the back bone of the state administration,” they alleged. They threatened to intensify protests in case their demand is not met.Police swung into action and detained scores of them when they tried to march towards busy Residency Road.
