Shiromani Akali Dal President and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal today exhorted the party cadres to make more and more people aware about ‘Ik Sham Sarkaar De Naal’ initiative starting from June 10 so as to bring pro-people welfare measures undertaken by the SAD-BJP government to the fore.Disclosing this while presiding over a meeting of District Presidents and office bearers of Malwa Zone, SAD President gave instructions to the leaders to gear up for the 2017 assembly polls in the right earnest and give priority to strengthening the party at grassroots level by constituting Circle and Village level units quickly.Coming to the issue of women empowerment, he asked them to form Mai Bhago Sewa Societies at village level to whom utensils would be distributed for common use during small functions in the villages apart from resolving theirMr Badal said the party cadre should focus on assisting the administrative officials as well as common people in making MGNREGA job cards as the Central Government had amended MGNREGA guidelines and in accordance with the new ones, now MGNREGA job card holders could also work in the farms to assist farmers.Touching another important aspect, S. Badal directed the party leaders to lend helping hand to the officials in identifying actual beneficiaries of Atta-Dal (Blue Card holders) and Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna (BPSSBY) in order to ensure that the benefits reach the genuine people.

Exhorting the party cadre to be united in all circumstances to give befitting reply to the anti-Punjab and misleading propaganda against Punjab launched by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said that SAD cadre should proudly display their SAD identity as it is the party which has always fought for protecting the interests of Punjabi's as well as Sikhs and is their sole genuine representative.Among others present on the occasion were Rural Development & Panchayat Minister, Punjab, S. Sikander Singh Maluka, Irrigation Minister S. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Adviser to the Deputy Chief Minister, S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Chief Parliamentary Secretary S. Mantar Singh Brar, Jathedar Dyal Singh Koleanwali, OSD to the Deputy Chief Minister, S. Charanjit Singh Brar, Kanwarjit Singh Rozy Barkandi and President Youth Development Board Punjab, S. Parambans Singh Bunty Romana.
