District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting was today held under the chairmanship of Member Parliament Muzaffar Hussain Beigh to review the progress made under various centrally sponsored schemes in Baramulla district.The meeting was attended by Member Parliament Fayaz Ahmad, Members of Legislative Assembly Javaid Hussain Beigh, Yawar Dilawar Mir, Ab Rashid Dar, Mohammed Abbas Wani and District Development Commissioner Yasha Mudgal.Mr Beigh laid emphasis on close coordination and synergy among different departments to achieve the desired targets under various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the district. He directed the concerned agencies to speed up the pace of work on development projects so that the benefit of these welfare programmes should percolate down to the bottom section of society as soon as possible.  He stressed upon the concerned officers that funds should be utilised in a judicious manner for early completion of the vital projects.Detailed review was held on implementation of Indhira Awas Yojna (IAY), National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), RGGVY, PMGSY, MGNREGA, NRDWP,SBM, NRLM, Mid Day Meal, RMSA, SSA, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), BADP,NFSM, RAPDRP, IPDPS and ICDS schemes.

The meeting was informed that under MGNREGA, 5151 works have been completed out of total of 8588 works ending March 2016 incurring a total expenditure of Rs 4674.48 lacs. Under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, 13100 units have been established at a cost of Rs 805.89 Lacs by the end of March 2016. Under RMSA, 32 works have been completed incurring an expenditure of Rs 306.96 Lacs and in SSA an expenditure of Rs 954.19 Lac has been made till March 2016.Reviewing the works taken under Border Area development Programme (BADP), Beigh said that emphasis should be laid on those sectors which possess high employment generation potential. He directed for adopting spatial planning under BADP.Mr Beigh said that central government has been generous in supporting these schemes and the concerned departments from the state should submit their utilization certificates on time to ensure smooth flow of funds.Among others Director Planning and Monitoring, SEs from various departments, Sub Divisional Magistrates and District officer were present during the meeting.
