Cabinet Minister Punjab Mr Madan Mohan Mittal has said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government is committed for promoting technical education in the state and that is why, several Skill Development Centres have been opened and the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI’s) have been upgraded with ultra modern infrastructure. The Cabinet Minister was addressing the students during the second and last day of State-Level Cultural Function and Prize Distribution Function organised by the Department Of Technical Education and Industrial Training Punjab at Guru Nanak Bhawan, here today.

While addressing the students, Mr Mittal said that technical education plays a very important role in every student’s life. He said that the students who study at ITI’s and Skill Development Centres get absorbed in industry very easily as compared to others. He said the Department Of Technical Education and Industrial Training Punjab remains in touch with the industry and that is why several new courses have been started in the ITI’s as per the demand of industry.He said that this particular function was organised so that the students of ITI’s are given a proper platform to polish their hidden talent. He said that such state level functions would now be made a regular feature so that the students get a chance to showcase their talent. He said that such events also instill a sense of competitiveness amongst the students, which help them in life in longer run.Mr Madan Mohan Mittal said that he was too impressed with the function and that is why, he announced a holiday for tomorrow (May 18, 2016) in all ITI’s of the state.
