Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday said that the vision of a developed Tripura can be realised through the creation of modern cities and villages, coupled with the expansion of digital governance to ensure faster, transparent and citizen‑friendly delivery of government services across the state.

The Chief Minister said the government is committed to strengthening digital systems in all municipal areas, to make public services more accessible and efficient while accelerating development. Saha was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a series of people‑centric projects of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala.

He said that along with AMC, digital civic services would be expanded across all municipal areas of the state, adding that the government’s primary objective is to work for the welfare and overall development of the people. “We need goodwill and dedication to carry out development works.

It is because of the commitment and positive intent of the present government that new projects are being implemented across every part of the state, including Agartala city. Government employees, officials and public representatives must work together to ensure that every project under the Agartala Smart City Mission and other state initiatives is implemented in a transparent, accountable and time‑bound manner,” the Chief Minister said.

Saha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always emphasised development through dedicated work and performance. “The state government also wants to move forward on the same path through sincere and result‑oriented work. To lead a better life, people need an affordable and improved standard of living.

Keeping this in mind, the government is implementing more projects aimed at making people’s lives easier, better and more affordable,” he said. The Chief Minister urged all stakeholders not to become complacent but to continue working collectively to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, transparently and aesthetically.

“The people have elected public representatives with the responsibility of serving society. Their trust and confidence can only be earned through honest work and by consistently acting in the best interests of the people,” he added. Highlighting the state’s urban development initiatives, Saha said that Agartala is steadily emerging as one of the promising modern cities in the northeastern region.

He said the government is simultaneously focusing on preserving the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage while transforming it into a modern, well‑planned and citizen‑friendly urban centre. “The true success of any development project is reflected when ordinary citizens themselves acknowledge that their daily lives have become more comfortable and convenient because of the government’s initiatives,” he said.

The Chief Minister also appealed to citizens, clubs, voluntary organisations and social groups to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability in Agartala. He called upon all sections of society to join hands in making the city clean, healthy, environmentally sustainable and drug‑free.
