Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Yasin Malik Friday said that the pro-freedom group will not allow setting up of Sainik colonies and cluster colonies for Kashmir Pandits in any part of the state.“We will not allow Sainik Colonies for retired army men to be set up in the state, whether these ex-service men are state subjects or non-state subjects. Setting up clusters for Kashmir Pandits in the valley will be vehemently opposed,” Malik told reporters in a press conference here.“We will fight against these designs till the last drop of our blood against these issues that will make entry for non-state subjects,” Malik told reporters in a press conference here.“Though government sets up residential colonies for serving employees, but when they retire they live in their houses not in government colonies. So are then ex-army men given separate Sainik colonies here,” he said.
Reiterating that Kashmir Pandits are “our brothers” who can return to the valley and live safely within the Muslim localities as they lived before migration.
“Kashmiri pandits can live like us within Muslim localities without any fear. Pandits who did not migrate are living safely with their Muslim neighbours. But creating walls of hatred and making colonies on the pattern of Israel in Palestine will be opposed,” he said.Opposing the Industrial Policy-2016, Malik said that the policy is aimed at giving entry to non-state subject businessmen.“Industrial policy is a ploy to give entry and land to Indian businessmen on the pattern of East India Company,” he said.“We appeal the businessmen from the state to oppose it. And we will call for social boycott of the local businessmen who will tie-up with non-state subjects for starting any industry here,” he said.Malik said that the resistance groups will launch a united programme after consultations will Hurriyat (G), Hurriyat (M), civil society, Bar Association and students.“JKLF formed a five-member group that will hold consultations with other resistance leadership, civil society, lawyers and students. We will come up with a joint programme to oppose these designs and plans of India,” he said.
The JKLF chairman condemned the banning of seminar of Hurriyat (G) which was scheduled on Thursday at Hurriyat (G) headquarters in Hyderpora.“Now seminars are not being allowed inside homes. This is worst state terrorism,” he said.Accusing the government of vitiating situation in the state, he said that the PDP-BJP government creates issues and confusion among people and then blames people for these issues.“Government must clear the confusion about these controversial issues,” he said.Hitting out at chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, Malik said that when she was not in power, she “virtually” behaved like a human rights activist, and would mourn with the families of the militants or people killed in forces firings.“But today when she is power, all political activities are banned,” he said.Condemning the hanging of Jammat-e-Islami leader in Bangladesh, Malik said that the government there is resorting to political vendetta.“We are against death by hanging, and we demand from the Bangladesh government to stop execution of people on political vendetta,” he said.
