Minister for Agriculture Production Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, today held a meeting to take a detailed review of targets under various sectors under centrally and state sponsored schemes for the year 2015-16.The proposed development projects and welfare schemes to be taken up during the current financial year of 2016-17 were also discussed during the review meeting.On the occasion, DDC Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad while briefing the Minister said against a total approved outlay of Rs 168.02 crore earmarked for the year 2015-16, an amount of Rs 175.47 crore was made available to the district against which 99.61% expenditure was made upto ending March 2016.He was also informed that under the R&B sector about 144.5 kms of road length was macadamized on priority involving an expenditure of Rs 17.34 crore. Similarly under PHE sector against the target of 12 schemes taken up for completion about nine schemes involving expenditure of Rs 6.89 crore were fully completed and made operational thus providing safe drinking water to about 220619 more souls.It was also given out that under MGNREGA against approved outlay of Rs 33.79 crore an amount of Rs 33.50 crore was utilized.
While reviewing proposed outlay and impending expenditure for the current financial year of 2016-17, it was told that district has proposed an outlay of Rs 168.86 crore so that spill over and proposed works under various sectors could be executed within stipulated time . It was said that the district has already received 25 percent of the Capex outlay of the current financial year of 2016-17. Accordingly all the departments have been stressed to go ahead with execution of the ongoing developmental schemes.Speaking on the occasion the Minister appreciated the performance of district administration with regard to utilization of funds and targets achieved physically during the previous financial year. He said that the present dispensation led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to address all the grievances and demands of the people so that all sections of people of the state reap the dividends of development.The review meeting was attended by MLC Saif-ud-din Bhat, S.S.P Budgam, Chief Engineer PDD, Chief Engineer I&FC, Director Agriculture, Director Urban Local Bodies, Director Horticulture, Director Rural Development, Director Agricultures, S.E. Hydraulics Budgam, ADC Budgam and all other concerned district and sectoral officers.
