To provide services to the disables of flung areas at their door step, District Health Society (DHS) organised a disability camp at Ukhral which was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz, here today.The motive for organising medical camps at remotest locations of the district was taken by DDC for facilitating the patients in general and disables in particular who generally find it very difficult to visit district hospital for treatment or getting disability certificates.Chief Medical officer, Block Medical Officers, doctors and other field functionaries were also present in the camp amid big gathering from the villages like Senabati, Hochak, Alanbas, Panchal, Pogal, Nirthial, Danmasta, Fagmula, Batroo, Sujmatna etc.
About 350 disability certificates were issued on the spot to the beneficiaries by the board after screening their abnormalities and defects which is highest in any medical camp organised so far in the district, CMO informed.While interacting with the people, DDC said that differently abled persons shall be benefitted under different schemes of State and Centre meant for their welfare and protection. He assured them handicapped pensions and other entitled benefits by the social welfare and other departments.Meanwhile, DDC also inspected the under construction work of DD Thakur Memorial Community hall at Batroo and directed the concerned to ensure the time bound completion of the work of building besides maintaining its quality.
