In order to strengthen and fully equip the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) and all the Police Training   Institutions in the State, Jammu and Kashmir Police is going to modernize all its Training Institutions to meet contemporary professional challenges.This was disclosed by Additional Director General of Police Trainings (ADGP), Mr. Navin Aggerwal, while chairing a meeting of heads of Police Training Institutions at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today. The meeting was convened to review training modules as per the changing policing requirements in the field and also to modernize delivery mechanism of various training modules.  He said during 2016-2017, PHQ would equip all the training institutions across the State by providing high tech equipment to institutions under the modernization programme. He said that our men should be able to get professional training in every field of professional policing at par with other police forces in the country.

Mr. Aggerwal asked all heads of Institutions to come up with long term proposals and requirements of these institutions to bring innovative changes in the working. He said responsibilities of police have increased manifold and it has become imperative to upgrade our training infrastructure besides framing the syllabus to fulfil present requirements.The meeting discussed proposals and issues to be focussed during 2016-2017 with Officers puting forth issues with regard to the requirements.Detailed deliberations were held on different aspects of training including physical fitness, sports activities, knowledge about modern techniques of investigation, better crowd management with minimum use of force by following SOPs and use of weaponry to fight latest challenges in a professional manner. It was decided that the training institutions would be strengthen on  modern lines by providing high tech equipments in the shape of armoury, investigation skills, use of IT technology and latest communication gadgets.Among others, the meeting was attended by Director SKPA, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, AIsGP, Dr. Mohammad Haseeb Mughal, Tahir Sajad and Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, Principals, Sanjiv Kumar Khajuria, Hasseeb-u-Rehmna, Ranjit Kanwar, Vijay Kumar Jamwal, BA Tamil, Jehangir Khan and Mehmood Ahmed, SP Trainings, BA Shah, Dy: Superintendents of Police, Sheikh Zaffar Ullah Ahmed and Mohammad Iqbal.
