Condemning the killing of unarmed people at the hands of government forces in Kashmir, Hurriyat (M) spokesman has said these forces were taking advantage of black laws like the Armed Forces Special powers Act (AFSPA), which give unbridled powers to these forces and instigates them to target unarmed civilians.Reacting to the death of Abdul Gani Naikoo resulting from the action of troops of 19 RR camp at Halsidar Veerinag, the Hurriyat (M) condemned the incident saying that the way these forces cracked down on his residence, damaged family’s belongings and harassed the family members was a reflection of the brutal behavior of government forces, who under the protection of black laws like AFSPA commit atrocities on the common Kashmiris.

The Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that the Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed heart-felt condolences over phone with Javed Ahmad Naikoo the son of deceased Abdul Gani Naikoo and his entire family while senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with a delegation of Hurriyat (M) visited Halsidar, Veerinag to express condolences with the deceased’s family and condemned the action of government forces.Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) spokesman expressed grave concern over the mysterious killing of a Kralpora Kupwara resident Maqsood Ahmad Shah in Jalandhar Punjab and said the safety of property and life of Kashmiris living outside the Valley in various states of India including Kashmiri traders, businessmen, and students was the legal and moral responsibility of the respective state governments. The spokesman said such incidents against Kashmiris in different states of India was a matter of concern and called upon the Government of India to take concrete measures to prevent such happenings.Calling for an impartial probe into the death of Maqsood Ahmad Shah, the spokesman expressed grief and shock over his death and extended sympathies with the bereaved family.
