Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today said that the Shiromani Akali Dal will fight year 2017 state assembly elections on the sole issue of overall development and would register a historic hat trick of victories.After handing over the development grants to the tune of Rs.29 lac for different development works in villages Bhullar and Haans, Mr. Majithia while interacting with media persons said that the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal have ensured overall development of rural as well as urban areas with special emphasis on creation of world class infrastructure besides making state power surplus and ensuring the benefit of various welfare schemes of the state government to the targeted populace. He said that we were fully confident that the people of Punjab once again extending their whole heartedly support to the Shiromani Akali Dal, would pave the way for record third time formation of SAD-BJP government in Punjab.
Replying a question over Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s claim of having nationalism in his blood, Mr. Majithia said that he did not want to comment on Rahul’s personal feelings but the reality is that the people of country had already rejected Congress led by Gandhi family and it was limited to just 44 seats out of 544 Lok Sabha seats. He reminded that it was the Gandhi family led government which attacked the Sanctum Sanctorum of Sri Harmandar Sahib with tanks and honoured its leaders like HKL Bhagat, Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler with high positions in government as well as in party set up who were responsible for the massacre of thousands of innocent Sikhs in the streets of national capital. He said that despite 80% sacrifices during the nation’s freedom struggle by Sikhs and Punjabis, the Gandhi family always betrayed Punjab and its biased and anti-Punjab decision on Punjab waters still costing Punjab dearly.
Mr. Majithia said that only Punjabis can take care of the rights of Punjab and the people having specialization in opportunistic politics and double standards can never understand the depth of various issues relating Punjab. He said that the way Aam Adami Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal took u-turn on SYL issue, it has even stunned the political experts and this step will turn to be his political suicide. He questioned Mr. Kejriwal that on one side during his Punjab visit he categorically said that SYL canal should not be completed and after reaching Delhi he changes his track thereby hurting the feelings of Punjabis. Mr. Majithia said that Mr. Kejriwal always does opportunistic politics and such people will never do anything good for Punjab and the people of Punjab have already understood his style of politics and will never accept him.
