Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly  Kavinder Gupta today chaired a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar.Medical Superintendent Dr. Mohd Younis Choudhary, who is also the Vice Chairman of RKS Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu presented the physical and financial achievements of the hospital. He highlighted the major achievements like installation of Biometric attendance system, Improvement in physical structure, Cleanliness, IEC activities, Establishment of Digital X-Ray, Manifold ( central ) supply of gases etc in the hospital. He also highlighted the achievements made under Rashtriya Bal Swastik Karyakaram (RBSK) wherein children were provided financial assistance for treatment of various ailments  covered under RBSK which include Hearing Aid to 22 patients, free treatment to 67 patients suffering from Club foot (CTEV) besides 172 Thalassemic patients have been identified from Jammu Division.

He apprised about achievements registered in outdoor/Indoor Patients departments, Major/Minor Operations, Deliveries, LSCS, Lab Test, Ultrasound, X-Ray, ECG, JSY and RBSK etc.  

He also informed about the work done under various sections and the expenditure incurred. Requirements and demands for further upgradation and improvement in the hospital functioning were also projected during the meeting .Taking stock of the achievements registered so far and quality of work done in the hospital, the Speaker expressed satisfaction over the improvement in overall functioning of the hospital and stressed upon the staff to work with missionary zeal. He lauded the management for providing Cochlear Implant under RBSK to poor children who were deaf and dumb which otherwise was out of reach for them due to very high cost. He also assured to provide one ambulance to the hospital for the welfare of the patients.The Speaker stressed upon the hospital management to work in close coordination, so as to ensure the best possible healthcare to the patients .Members of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti  which include Superintending Engineer  PHE / PDD / PWD (R&B), Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr. Robinder Khajuria , A.D.M.O , Jammu, Dy. Director Information, programme Officer ICDS and others prominent citizens of the area including Vinay Gupta, Surjeet Choudhary, Ajay Pargal, and S. Paramjeet Singh Raina, Ex-Corporator also gave certain valuable suggestions.
