Condemning the state government for spending huge amount of about Rs 32 crore to buy new vehicles for legislatures, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today questioned it and said at a time, when it needed an intensive ‘austerity’ drive in view of acute financial crisis, it opted to buy ‘luxurious’ convoy to over-burden the state exchequer. Knowing it very well that they would be ousted from power in early next year, State Government is not keeping any stone unturned to make state ‘bankrupt’ deliberately, making it difficult for the next government to run the show, State Convener of AAP, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said.It is a known fact that state government is in dearth of money to pay even salaries to staff and even newly employed are being paid a very meager salaries, how could under such a poor financial health, any government could afford ‘luxury’ to buy fleet of ‘luxurious’ vehicles? Quipped Chhotepur. The state Government has placed orders to buy 14 Toyota Land Cruisers for the CM and Deputy CM apart from about 100 Innova Cars for all MLAs, Chhotepur asking from where the money came, when pensioners were still waiting for dues from the cash stripped government? Un-deserved expenses do not stop here, as cost of bullet proofing of each vehicle also comes to Rs 25 lakh, Chhotepur said reiterating that state government should issue white paper on the fiscal health of state.“People are tolerating the miss-governance of the state government in a wait to give them a befitting reply in the forthcoming assembly elections”, Chhotepur said.
