Horticulture Department today organized an awareness camp at village Pattian in Block Thuroo here.Chief Horticulture Officer S.K. Angurana, District Level Subject Matter Specialist, Sarbjeet Singh and HDO Rajinder Sharma were the resource persons in the awareness camp.On the occasion, CHO deliberated in detail about the aims, objectives and various schemes of Horticulture Department and stressed upon the farmers to avail the maximum benefits of these schemes. He assured the farmers that all efforts shall be made by the Department to arrange quality planting material from wherever it is available. Detailed presentation was also made about the schemes and incentives being provided by the department.Resource persons stressed on adopting organic farming in orchards and advised the farmers to establish vermin compost units, adopt Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) and integrated pest management (IPM) practices in their fields. The department also distributed fruit plants among the farmers.The camp was attended by Representatives of PRIs, prominent citizens and large number of farmers of the area.
