Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), organized Annual Sports Meet in the school premises here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana was chief guest on the occasion while Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal was the guest of honour. Inter-house final matches in Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi and fun races were savoured by the students and guests. A colorful cultural programme was also presented by students on the occasion.
Principal, Sunil Sharma welcomed Chief Guest and encouraged the students to participate in sports activities with full zeal and enthusiasm.In Basketball, Jhelum House defeated Tawi House while in Kabaddi, Devika House recorded victory over Chenab House beside in Volleyball Jhelum House remained winner over Devika.
Similarly, in Tug of War, Tawi house won over Chenab House while in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan competition Devika House was declared the winner.Mohammad Ashraf & Sonu of Jhelum House and Salim Mohammad of Devika House bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in sack race. In camel race Sajjad Hussain and Akhil of Devika House, Ashiq Hussain and Ajay of Jhelum house and Jeewan & Rahul of Devika House Bagged 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position respectively. Mr. Sangram Singh student of 12th class was adjudged as best all-rounder of the year. Earlier, School Magazine “Veni Lehar” was also released by the Chief Guest on the occasion.Among others, Chief Education Officer, Bishan Singh, District Treasury Officer, Ramesh Singh, Deputy Director P&S, Ashok Khajuria, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Sudesh Kumar, teachers and students in large number were present on the occasion.
