To ensure smooth vehicular movement in Shaher-i-Khaas areas, the Traffic Police City Srinagar Wednesday extended its drive against Traffic violators in densely populated areas of Srinagar including Nowpora, Khanyar, Bohri Kadal, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwara, Nowhatta and other areas.The drive was initiated following complaints regarding wrong parking, overloading in passenger buses, bikers without safety helmets and double pillion. During the drive the violators were challaned and counselled accordingly to desist from Traffic violations for their own safety and the safety of fellow road users. Besides, sticker paste campaign was launched in these areas to discourage obstructive/ wrong parking.

On the occasion, the SSP Traffic City Srinagar Mr. Maqsood-ul-Zaman sought cooperation of commuters to streamline traffic in City by strictly adhering to traffic rules and the right of way for both commuters and pedestrians. He assured that Traffic Police will deploy its manpower in these areas for smooth traffic regulation. He also appealed the commuters to obey traffic rules and avoid problems for the passing by traffic and pedestrians in congested areas of the city.
