The campaign for effective implementation of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme will be started from February 3rd 2016 in Kathua district. This was informed by District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar during a meeting of officers held here today. It was informed that the campaign will be started with the launch of Jingle on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ on the inaugural day followed by cultural activities and signature campaign.
He also said that 19th of every month shall be celebrated as ‘Laadli Diwas’ at panchayat level across the district for which Programmed Officer ICDS was nominated as the Nodal Officer . DDC directed CMO Kathua to depute medical teams for free check up of girls and pregnant women on every ‘Laadli Diwas’ besides setting up of women helpline at district hospital ensuring availability of a gynecologist from 10am to 12pm every Saturday and ASHA worker from 10am to 4pm for rest of the week. CEO Kathua was directed to select ‘Girl of the Month’ at panchayat level, whereas EO municipalities were directed to select ‘Girl of the Month’ from schools in every ward.
Displaying of message stickers on vehicles at the time of registration of new vehicle and during routine checking shall be done by RTO office to disseminate the message. Under corporate social responsibility Industries shall adopt gender critical villages. CMO was directed to install ‘Gudda Guddi Board’ displaying gender birth ratio month wise at CHC and district hospital. DYSSO was instructed to organize special sports/ athletic meet for girls at district and block level.CPO, RTO, PO ICDS, ACD, CEO, District Officers, bankers, principals of education institutions attended the meeting.
