Usha Vohra, First Lady, attended “Ladies Cultural Programme” organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) as part of Republic Day celebrations at Government Degree College for Women, Parade here today.Lauding the cultural programme, which was based on the theme of women empowerment, Mrs. Vohra said that every girl child has the right to be provided good education and an amicable environment for all round balanced growth. She said that being a women is a wonderful and proud feeling and nothing could be compared to the beauty of womanhood.

Mrs. Vohra was highly appreciative of the exuberance of the teachers and students from different educational institutions and representatives of Women Welfare Organisations who participated in the programme. She complimented the YSS Department for its initiative to provide an opportunity for women to showcase their talents.Mr. Jahangir Mir, Director General, Youth Services and Sports, presented the Welcome Address and Mr. Sukhdev Raj, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, presented a Vote of Thanks on the occasion.Mrs. Ruby Sharma, Mrs. K Vijaya, Mrs. Deepa Kotwal, Mrs. Zubeida Jahangir were among the distinguished Guests who were present in the Programme.
