The Shiromani Akali Dal today ridiculed the statement of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Capt Amarinder Singh welcoming the suggestion of PPP leader Manpreet Singh Badal for all party meeting of the opposition parties and said that they cannot befool the public by scratching each other’s back. In a statement issued from party head office here today, party Treasurer and Joint Secretary NK Sharma said that these public postures of Amarinder Singh and Manpreet Singh Badal cannot restore the lost dignity of both leaders as people of Punjab have already proved that zero plus zero would remain zero. He said that people of Punjab have overwhelmingly rejected the Congress and congregation of other parties under the banner of ‘Sanjha Morcha’ as they saw through the game that Sanjha Morcha was just fighting a proxy battle on behalf of Congress party. He said that people have voted for development and prosperity of Punjab and rejected the leaders with dual face and negative mind set. Questioning the hue and cry raised on taxes, the SAD leader said that let Amarinder first knock at the door of 10 Janpath to remove the pre condition of levying of property tax for getting urban development grants, only then he had the moral right to talk about this. He said that his criminal silence on steepest ever diesel price hike exposes his real concern about common man. Describing the so called proposed all party meeting Congress and its cronies as futile exercise, Sharma said that their such moves cannot distract the attention of public from multiple scams of the Congress led UPA government.
