The daily wages workers serving as Beldars in the Forests & wildlife department Punjab for past quite a few years have been absorbed into the department as Beldars in consonance with the Punjab Government rules. They have been made the permanent employees of the department and have been handed over the appointment letters for the same at Van Bhawan, Sector 68 Mohali by Mr. Chunnilal Bhagat, the Forests & Wildlife Minister, Punjab.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhagat said that these workers play an important role in the protection of forests and the wildlife. Felicitating the newly appointed employees, Mr. Bhagat hoped that they would work with complete sincerity and dedication.
It is pertinent to mention that as per the policy issued by Personnel Department Punjab on 18-3-2011, the approval has been given to the absorb those daily wages workers as permanent employees who have worked for 10 years on daily wages till 3-1-2006.As per this policy, Forests department Punjab recently got the approval of the Punjab Cabinet to absorb 417 daily wages workers as regular employees. The 417 daily wage workers found eligible from different Van Mandals have been handed over the appointment letters here today.
