Reaffirming that protection of dignity and honour of the common people was the mission of his life and his party, the Minister for Finance Mr Abdul Rahim Rather today vowed to devote his whole life for the socio-economic emancipation of his people. He said that there is not a single instance in his political career spanning over 30years where he would have supported or encouraged hooliganism (Khadpanchism, Gunda Raj). He said I will continue to protect the people from the exploitation of such elements. He said this while addressing mammoth public gathering at Braripathri Nougam in Tehsil Chadoora of Budgam district. Stating that the area of Darwan, Braripathri, Kanidajan is topographically difficult but I ensured that the wave of development like other parts of the State reaches in this area also adding that the people here are living comparatively a better life. A vast road network has been constructed and this area is now connected by 5 major connecting roads with 6th road in pipeline under PMGSY for the revenue inhabitations of Nowpora- Darwan. Directing the engineers to prepare a detailed project report of the road, he further directed them to complete the leftover and incomplete works in Sen-darwan Brarpathri road and Kanidajan Braripathri road, which shall be a great relief to the native people. Concerned engineers of PDD were also directed for the provision of necessary power sub-stations, electric conductors and electric poles in the area and told the officers to expedite the works especially in the wake of winter season.

The Minister also met number of deputations from all various ares of the Charar-i-Sharief constituency and listened their grievances and demands patiently. He assured them that all their genuine demands will be fulfilled adding that promises mde to the people will be met in a phased manner. The demands included construction of various link roads and construction of Primary health centre building and school building at Phrasdab. Representatives of Employees Union and Muslim Wakf also met the minister on the sidelines of the public gathering with their demands.Ali Mohammad Waggay, PDP panch also joined NC at the occasion.The Minister was accompanied by Distinct Development Commissioner, Budgm, Mr. Khushid Ahmad Shah and Engineers and officers of district administration.
