Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq today inaugurated a Panchayat Ghar at Lower Chakrohi in Suchetgarh.The Minister also laid foundation stone of Community Facility cum Training Centre at Upper Chakrohi to be constructed on land measuring 4 kanal.MLA Suchetgarh Sham Lal Choudhary, Director RDD, Jammu M L Raina, SDM RS Pura Deep Raj and other officers accompanied the Minister.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that CFCs are being constructed in every village so that people can use them for organizing community functions, training local youths and holding meetings. “The state government is also strengthening the Panchayats so that local people plan and supervise works for the benefit of the village” he added.
He also highlighted the various new initiatives launched by the department to expedite rural development and improve the overall ambiance in the villages.Responding to various demands of the local people including those related to relaxing of norms under IAY to cover needy persons, the Minister assured that genuine demands will be given due consideration besides Government would look into the matter with regard to IAY norms. The Minister called on people to actively participate in the efforts to improve facilities in rural areas and ensure that durable assets created in the villages are judiciously used.
