A one-day workshop was organised for Revenue Officers on Revenue Laws, Law & Order, RTI Act & Rules, Traffic Management, Court Proceedings, Field Reporting and various issues related to management of land records and public order. SDMs, Collectors Land Acquisition,  Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Girdawar Qanungos and all the Patwaris of district participated in the workshop.Rajinder Singh Tara, Special Secretary Health & Medical Education, Sanjay Kotwal SSP Traffic NHW, Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Commissioner .Commercial Taxes and Narinder Khajuria, Addl Secretary Raj Bhawan were special guest speakers in the workshop.Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary presented the keynote address and the areas of concern for skill upgradation and knowledge of rules among revenue officers. He stressed for continuous capability enhancement and upgradation of knowledge on legal matters apart from having a constant awareness about ever evolving judgments related to various Acts and Rules.

Rajinder Singh Tara spoke on role of Executive Magistrates in maintaining law and order, removal of public nuisance, public order, property disputes, inquest proceedings, court proceedings, police remand, and a number Acts, Executive Orders and Committees. He also discussed about enquiries, prisons,  breach of peace and police-magistracy relationship. Sanjay Kotwal elaborated on role of Magistrates in enforcing traffic laws. He briefed about Motor Vehicle Act and Rules, Compounding and Challaning procedure, Supreme Court directions on traffic issues, powers of Magistrates under Section 306 of MV Act.Tilak Raj Sharma discussed various aspects of land acquisition, revenue reporting, general roles, issuance of certificates & documents and core functions of revenue officers. 

Narinder Khajuria made a PowerPoint presentation on Right to Information Act and Rules. He briefed the participants about maintenance of official information and documents, sharing of information in public domain, procedure for addressing RTI queries and appeals.PO DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra organised the workshop and coordinated the arrangements. Mementos were presented to guest speakers and certificates to all the participants. Dr Mehra presented vote of thanks.Earlier, Addl DC Angrez Singh Rana presented welcome address and introduced the guest speakers. He instructed the participants about proceedings of the workshop and assessment test of learning. Question-answer session was organised for each lecture and topic.
