Terming accurate database as an important ingredient in effective implementation of any scheme, Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Ch Zulfkar Ali, today emphasized upon the officers to ensure complete transparency and precision in collection of records of deserving families envisaged to be covered under National Food Security Act (NFSA).Minister of State for Finance and IT Pawan Kumar Gupta and MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat were also present in the meeting.The Minister, while reviewing progress on database creation in the district under NFSA here today made a fervent appeal to all stakeholders including social and political groups to recommend their suggestions on NFSA for realizing the real purpose of this pro-people initiative of the government. He said that the only objective of this Act is to ensure that maximum number of beneficiaries are provided quality ration.

Zulfkar said directions have been issued to all DDCs to built an error free database which is pre-requisite for success of this Act  to ensure that all the families in the target group are covered under the scheme .Referring to recent news about errors in database minister said error if any found would be rectified as DDC have been asked to  take requisite time but  ensure accuracy and cent percent coverage of  beneficiaries  .Taking a dig at those creating unnecessary confusion over NFSA, the Minister appealed the people not to get swayed by the false propaganda being unleashed by such miscreants who search for political mileage even out of extra sensitive issues. He said people’s cooperation and participation is most significant tool in effective implementation of development and welfare programmes.“Development is possible only when all  stakeholders collectively participate in the process to achieve the desired goals ,setting aside their vested interests ”, maintained the Minister.

Earlier, while interacting with the students  during a  symposium held on consumer rights awareness at government   boys higher secondary school, the Minister said that possibilities would be explored to introduce consumer affairs as subject in all schools. The Minister exhorted upon the students to thoroughly acquaint themselves with the rights and responsibilities of a consumer as they can spread this awareness further for larger interest of the society. He said the government is taking every possible measure on its part but the people should also come forward and help in eradicating unscrupulous trade practices from the society. He said that such awareness programmes can play an essential role in educating the people about all issues related to consumers welfare.District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, DDC Reasi Sushma Chauhan, Director CAPD G S Chib, Director Tribal Affairs M S Choudhary, SSP Suleiman Choudhary, Jt Controller Legal Metrology, ADDC Arvind Sharma, ADC Angrez Singh Rana,  CPO Rakesh Jamwal,  district and sectoral officers and CAPD officials of Udhampur and Reasi were present in the meeting.
