Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Abdul Haq Khan convened a meeting to review the progress of development works being executed by the department.During the meeting, the Minister directed concerned officers to verify IAY cases so that installments could reach the beneficiaries through DBTL well in time.The Minister was informed in the meeting that each CFC would be constructed at an estimated cost Rs 50 lakh by converging funds from the 13th Finance Commission and MGNREGA.The Minister instructed the concerned officers to supervise under construction projects and ensure their timely completion. He said that dereliction of duty would be severely dealt with while as dutiful officers would be encouraged.It was decided in the meeting that fencing walls would be constructed around all assets of RDD including Common Facility Centres and Block Development Councils.The Minister directed the officers to ensure involvement of Panchayati Raj institutions in planning and implementation of schemes/ programmes for the holistic development of rural areas. He asked them to construct Panchayat Ghars and CFCs with easily available construction material at hilly areas where taking construction material costs heavily to the state exchequer.He asked the officers to direct the executing agencies to take prior permission from ACDs and BDOs for staring any construction works in their respective blocks.
