Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday said the Modi wave has not ebbed and mere electoral losses do not reflect it."If you say the (Modi) waves have lessened that means, you admit that were the waves. Our wave has not ebbed. In democracy, winning and losing elections is a continuous process," Prasad said at a discussion at Agenda Aaj Tak 2015.The Bharatiya Janata Party leader alleged that the Congress has not been able to digest the party's defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.Congress leader Anand Sharma, who also took part in the discussion, refuted Prasad's charge."I belong to a party which helped in making of the constitution. We respect the institution of the prime minister and not the individual. The Congress gives respect to the prime minister, which he deserves," he said. He, however, rejected the BJP's claim that Modi wave has not ebbed.

"Wave is not permanent. Hawa ab ulti chal padi hai (now the wind is blowing in the opposite direction)," Sharma said.Meanwhile, Prasad claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has achieved new heights internationally."We govern this country. We govern seven states and in two states we rule with our allies. The world now thinks India is a big destination. Corruption has stopped. I am the telecom minister, we have done spectrum auction and garnered Rs.1.10 lakh crore," he said.Refuting the Congress charge that the government is ignoring the farmers and the poor of the country, Prasad said: "Our GDP is at 7 percent average. Roads are being constructed. Infrastructure is at place. In Jan Dhan Yojna, 19 crore people opened accounts. The prime minister himself has assured the nation that his government is for the poor and the farmers.""We have come to fix the problems in this country. We have got the mandate from the countrymen to run this nation for five years," he added.
