Democratic Liberation Party chairman Hashim Qureshi Wednesday said that the human rights of the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir are being crushed from the last 25 years without any violator being held accountable. In a statement to KNS, Qureshi said that while world will be observing Human Rights Day on December 10, for the people of Jammu and Kashmir such a day has no meaning for them as their human rights are violated everyday.

“Innocent Kashmiris were killed in such a way that the soil of the state is bloodied. On this day, people human rights bodies must account for the violation on humans that took place in the year. But, unfortunately, human rights violation continue in the state throughout the year,” he said.“Besides violation by police, security forces here, politicians, government officers and those people who oppress others by seeking corruption, take away rights of orphans also come in the compass of human rights violations. Such violation must be stopped,” he said, while appealing the pro-freedom people to hold themselves accountable today for their rights violations and vow not to repeat such violations in future.
