To deal with various kinds of weather vagaries during ensuing winter season particularly blockage of NH1A and other road stretches, District Development Commissioner, Bashir Ahmed Dar convened a high level meeting here today.The meeting was attended by ADDC, SSP, SSP Traffic, ACR, CPO, XENs PDD, PHE, PWD, CMO, Tehsildars, DSWO, and representatives of construction agencies.During the meeting extensive discussion was held with regard to necessary arrangements including power supply, drinking water, ration storage, clearance of roads, healthcare besides other inconveniences which are usually faced by the people during natural calamities.

The DDC directed Tehsildars to provide details of accommodation which could be used for making people stay in case of any such condition. He also directed Assistant Director CAPD to stock adequate food supplies at such locations where stranded passengers could be put up.  He further instructed all other concerned officers to arrange all type of facilities required for comfortable stay of people.The DDC also instructed tunnel and road construction agencies including IRCON, Navyoga, IL&FS to keep their men and machinery on alert in order to counter any type of untoward incidents due to snowfall and landslides.With regard to hilly areas, the DDC asked officers to make all required arrangements to avoid any kind of discomfort to the people in such areas and to ensure that they do not suffer any inconvenience during heavy rains and snowfall. He also instructed officers to regularly monitor the situation in all such areas which are vulnerable to untoward incidents due extreme cold conditions.
