Ridiculing pisive elements for exploiting religious and regional sentiments of the innocent people to satiate their petty political interests, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr Ab Rahim Rather today called for united efforts to defeat their nefarious design to disintegrate the secular fabric of the state, which has been the hallmark of our rich culture and ethos.Addressing a huge public gathering at Kaneera in tehsil Chadoora, after laying foundation stone of Rs 1.89 cr. Primary Health Center building, the Minister said that the tendency of politicking on the basis of religion, region , caste and creed was worrisome as it has disastrous consequences not only on the integrity of whole country but on state’s secular fabric too which is both politically as well as topographically a sensitive region in the whole sub continent. He asked the secular and peace loving people to alienate all the disruptive forces who are inimical to the peace, tranquillity and development. Without naming BJP and PDP, the Minister enjoined upon political parties to shun their myopic and conservative mind set and play moral based politics instead banking upon policy of lie and deceit. “Public opinion can’t be hoodwinked falsely for a long,” Mr Rather maintained.
The Minister assured the people that promises made to the people will fulfill earnestly adding that the upcoming hospital building shall have 14 rooms in ground floor and 10 rooms in 1std floor having all modern diagnostic and medical treatment facilities. He announced a new water supply scheme for Kaneera costing Rs 3 cr having one lakh gallon capacity with 25000 gallon capacity Service Reservoir. He also directed the concerned officers and engineers to work honestly with dedication to redress grievances of the people. He wowed to make his constituency a model adding that there is any habitation left which is without road connectivity. The Minister asked the people to judge governments by their performance adding that the report card of the present Govt for last five years is before the people for the purpose’.
Virtually launching election campaign for ensuing Parliamentary elections in his constituency, the Finance Minister asked the people to elect honest and dedicated candidates who have credibility in the society and are able to serve the people with commitment. He said exercising the franchise is people’s fundamental right and it should be safeguarded from the affects and domination of materialism and communalization.
