To mark the ongoing festival season and jointly share the festivities, Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi and Senior leader Yudhvir Sethi today hosted a special event, here.People especially womenfolk from different walks of life attended the event and exchanged greetings among each other.Prominent among those who attended the event include, Mamta Singh, Suresh Jamwal, Saroj Gupta, Rajni Sethi, Shila Handoo, Anju Bargotra, Sharda, Rekha Mahajan, Vimla Padha, Usha Sharma, Surinder Kour, Manju Dogra, Dr. Monica Sharma, Monica Khosla, Anil Masoom, Rakesh Sharma, Vishal Kohli, Gulshan Kumar, Manmohan, Nitesh Trikha and Nipun Malhotra.While addressing the gathering, Priya said the joint celebrations are a part of the rich culture of the region and composite fabric of society further gets strengthened by jointly celebrating events and festivals of different faiths.She said Government is keen to harness the untapped tourism potential of Jammu region which is famous for its heritage sites, unique festivals, historical shrines and beautiful landscapes.

The Minister said Jammu region has a great historical importance as it was a hub of economic activities during Dogra rule. She said it is earnest effort of present government to preserve heritage assets for future generations.She said 27 more heritage sites of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh region have been identified to be taken for preservation and listing under J&K Heritage Conservation & Preservation Act-2010.While extending festival greetings, Yudhvir said the city of temples has a long history of mutual coexistence and people from all faiths live in bonhomie. He said the special event has been organised to celebrate the ongoing festival season and extended warm greetings to all for the forthcoming festivals.Earlier, the artists of Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations presented a public-cum-variety show on State folk to educate the people about their rich culture and heritage of the State, which was highly applauded by the audience.
