Punjab Infotech To Provide Technical Training To 4400 SC Candidates

Unique Initiative To Cost Rs. 154 Lakh

The Punjab InfoTech would conduct special training courses of 3 months duration for the 4400 candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category in the 2015-2016 session. This initiative has been launched to ensure that the SC candidates get the opportunity to develop professional skills as per the demands of the industrial sector.Disclosing this, the Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission, Rajesh Bagha said that the Chairman of Punjab Infotech Mr. Manjit Singh Rai has sought co-operation of the SC Commission for the success of this initiative. Lauding the initiative, Mr. Bagha said that this unique initiative would prove to be a boon for the SC candidates belonging to the economically weaker sections.

Mr. Bagha also elaborated that under this programme, the Punjab InfoTech would provide computer related technical education to the 200 candidates from every district in the 2 separate batches of 2200. This programme would cost Rs. 154 lakhs. He also said that the lists are being prepared for the first batch of 2200 candidates and the course in “Certificate course in computer fundamental and office applications” would be started by the end of October.Divulging more, Mr. Bagha said that the Punjab Infotech provided skill development and technical training to the 500 SC candidates in 2012-13, 1000 in 2013-14 and 3000 during 2014-15. He also said that in case of any problem during the course, the candidates can contact Punjab InfoTech or Punjab SC Commission. On the occasion, Karanvir Singh Indorra Member SC Commission, Deputy Director Raj Bahadur Singh and Bahadur Singh were also present.
