Union Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh today said that martyrs' like Shaheed-e-Bhagat Singh and iconic historic figures like Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar were national treasures to be nurtured for future generations and nation is proud to relax all conditions to include Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singha and Dr. Ambedkar's village relaxing all conditions as a tribute to them. Speaking at a mamooth rally in the ancestral village of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, the Union Minister said that if the state government forms a cluster of area around this historic village, the Union Government would include it under Shayama Prasad Mukherjee Urban Mission under which Rs. 50 to 55 crore would be spent to make this area world class. 

Laying the foundation stone of 24 hour water supply scheme and paying obeisance at the ancestral home of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Chaudhary Birender Singh said that martyr Bhagat Singh made unparralled and supreme sacrfice for the freedom of our country and he was feeling proud to be part of development of this village.Emphathisinig with Punjab and Haryana farmers, who lost their crops, the Rural Development Minister said that Union Government was all set to extend helping hand to the state after they submit the details of loss. Lashing at Congress for ruining the economy of farmers, he said that NDA government scuttled the conspiracy of Congress Party to grab the cultivable land for MNCs under Special Economic Zones and it was Mr. Modi, who took the revolutionary decision to stand to protect the interests of farmers.

Remembering Sir Sunder Singh Majithia, the great grand father of Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia and his maternal grand father Sir Chotu Ram, who as ministers in British Government took momentous steps for the welfare of farmers, he said that Sir Sunder Singh Majithia assured irrigation up to tail end, whereas Sir Chotu Ram got freed 17 lakh hectare farmers' land that was grabbed by money lenders.Paying tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Punjab Revenue Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia said that martydom for the motherland was in the DNA of Punjabis. He said that 80 to 90 percent Punjabis were proud to be hanged for the motherland during freedom struggle and even in the Port Blair Jail 90 percent inmates in the jail were from Punjab. He requested Union Minister to request Union Governemt to acede to the request of Punjab Government to name newly operational Mohali International Airport in the name of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, as a lasting gratitude to the supreme sacrifice of Martyr.Urging Chaudhary Birender Singh to lead another movement for the farmers, he said that Punjab and Haryana collectively contribute 73 percent grains in the national kitty and now time has come that Sir Chotu Ram's grandson should lead a movement to improve the eonomy of farmers. 

Lashing at Aam Aadmi Party and People's Party of Punjab for exploiting the martydom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh for their political lust, Mr. Majithia said that whereas PPP backstabbed the farmers and AAP government in New Delhi has already become notorious with one minister in jail under the offence of fake degree another MLA absconding after being charged with domestic violence while people of Delhi were ruining after Delhi has emerged as unique state with highest VAT and Tax rates.Mr. Majithia said that SAD-BJP Government always worked for the welfare of farmers and Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Punjab has sealed the lips of opposition party by announcing highest ever compensation of Rs. 6000 crore for the cotton farmers of the state.Member Parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra thanking the Minister for relaxing conditions said that with his efforts this village would be the best village in the country with world class infrastructure, solar power and international stadium. Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal also spoke on the occasion.
