Demanding unconditional release of political detainees lashing in Indian Jails before Eid-ul-Azha, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement on Wednesday held a forceful protest in Press enclave Srinagar against nocturnal raids, arrest spree and detention of Pro-freedom leaders.According to a statement issued to KNS, Zaffar Akber Bhat, Chairman Salvation movement, was not allowed to take part in the protest demo and was detained when he was moving towards the venue and subsequently was put under house detention. Senior Party Leader including Abdul Qayoom Rather, Women’s wing secretary Ruqiya Baji and others led the protest demonstration. Abdul Qadeer and Rouf Ahmad Khan were also part of the protest demo. Leaders were carrying the placards, shouted slogans and demanded unconditional release of hundreds of innocent Kashmiri Youth and political activists lashing in jails. Interacting with the media, Leaders said that Indian authorities weren’t releasing the detainees who have completed their terms.They termed the approach of India and Indian authorities ‘callous’ and urged Indian Prime Minister to release the Kashmiri prisoners before Eid-ul-Azha on humanitarian grounds, so that they can celebrate this festival with their family members.Leaders also demanded release all those youngsters who were arrested in past weeks during nocturnal raids and are being subjected to brute forces in police stations, jails and have been detained in fabricated cases. They said that Indian government must also shift the imprisoned youth serving life imprisonment to valley so that their family members could meet them especially on religious occasion like Eid. They said that health is prisoners deteriorating day by day and the hunger strike by them inside the hails goes unnoticed. They urged International human rights groups to visit Indian jails and take a strong note of the problems which Kashmiri prisoners are facing at the hands of Indian jail authorities. They condemned the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian security forces in Kashmir and urged India government to implement the recommendations made by international rights group ‘Amnesty International’ for the perseverance of human rights of Kashmiris.Rich tributes were paid to martyrs who scarified their precious lives for the ongoing freedom struggle and house detention of Party Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat ahead of the protest program was strongly condemned.On Beef Ban, leaders convey message of its chairman Zaffar Akber said that no power on earth can overrule the Law of Allah. Allah has made Beef Halhal for us so no one can try to make it Haram for us. They said that Kashmiris will continue to consume Beef and if RSS tried to implement its agenda through so-called judiciary, decision will be resisted. They condemned the arrest of people who were selling bovine animals and asked Mufti Government to release the detained without any delay. (KNS)
