Deputy Commissioner Doda Bhupinder Kumar, in a bid to redress the grievances of people residing in remote areas of the district at their door steps, today held a public grievances redressal camp at far off Dessa area of the district.He was accompanied by Chief planning Officer Doda, Yoginder Katoch, Chief Medical Officer Doda, Kulbushan, Chief Education Officer Doda, Mr Ajit Kumar Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer Doda, H.K Razdan and other senior officers of line departments.Enroute from Doda to Dessa, the DC inspected Public Health centre Bhagwah, PHC Gai Dessa and Higher Secondary school Dessa.

He also interacted with the local farmers and inquired about the output and quality of Walnut grown in Baghwah area.He was briefed by Chief Agriculture Officer, Doda about the walnut and other fruit production. 

The DC also inspected some orchids and assessed horticulture potential in the area.At Dessa, while interacting with the locals, Kumar was apprised by them about their problems. They demanded adequate staff at local Government Higher secondary posting of lady Doctor and other staff at PHC Dessa, Black topping of road from Bimna to Gai Dessa and adequate stocks of essential commodities at Gai Dessa.Responding to the demands of people, the DC directed the chief Education officer Doda to post sufficient staff at GHSS Dessa among the newly selected batch of teachers, who are waiting for their joining.

Regarding the shortage of Doctors at PHC Dessa, the DC asked CMO Doda to post one doctor at Dessa from the three doctors presently posted at PHC Baghwah so that the immediate requirement of medicos is met. He also issued directions to the Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) to immediately start work on black topping the road from Bimna to Dessa.The Assistant Director CA&PD was asked to maintain sufficient stock of essential commodities at Dessa especially during winters when the area remains cut off due to heavy snowfall.To verify the complaints regarding the supply of substandard quality flour, the DC personally inspected CA&PD store at Dessa. He directed AD CA&PD not to receive the substandard food grain and sent the same back to the supplier.He also asked AD to inform him immediately in case the supply received is substandard so the issue could be raised timely at higher level.
