Expressing strong reaction over the economic blockade threat of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani appealed to the world community to come forward to protect the Kashmiri people from the “terrorism of the communal and pro-government organizations”.In a statement issued to KNS, Geelani said that the economic blockade of the Kashmir will have very serious consequences and the situation will be out of control for everybody. He added: “All the natural routes of Kashmir connecting it with the outer world are being occupied by the Indian occupational forces and they have been closed. And now the communal and fascist forces want to shut this temporary road too which connects Kashmir with India. This is the only way left for Kashmiris due to the Indian occupation through which they trade and communicate with the rest of the world and the communal people want to block that route too.”

Geelani said that the economic blockade of Kashmir will create serious situation here and the human population of Kashmir will heavily suffer due to the lack of food items and medicine. Geelani added that the policy makers of India and its allied communal groups have nothing to do with the miseries of the Kashmiri people as they are only interested with the land of Jammu & Kashmir and nothing else.Hurriyat (G) chairman, however, cautioned that if the communal forces enforced any type of economic blockade to Kashmir, a public movement will be started against that and the people will protest this act of terrorism on roads and will aware the international community about the serious situation of Kashmir. Geelani said that the BJP supported coalition government has brought miseries and difficulties for the Muslim majority population of Jammu & Kashmir and they are being harassed and abused in every possible ways.
