DDC Samba, Sheetal Nanda today convened a meeting of all concerned district and sectoral officers to take a  review of implementation of Village Development Plan(VDP) of Panchayat Sangwali, Block Ghagwal, which has been selected by Dr. Jitendera Singh, Union Minister for development as Model Village under   Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana ( SAGY).The meeting was attended by the ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma , ACD Pawan Parihar, PO ICDS, CMO Samba, CAO Samba ,ExEn PWD,PDD,PHE DSWO and heads of all district and sectoral offices.During the meeting it was informed that 75 soil health cards have been distributed to local farmers and an awareness camp on organic farming was organised where scientists from Chandigarh were invited as guest lecturers. The horticulture department has distributed two plants (lime and guava) per household. A new handicrafts centre has been established where 30 beneficiaries are being trained and efforts are being made for credit linkage to existing trained artisans through banks. The tender for black topping of link road has also been floated and work shall start soon.

DDC directed PO ICDS to focus on comprehensive survey of beneficiaries and ensure supplementary nutrition to all. ExEn PWD was directed to provide estimates for a well planned drainage system. AD CAPD was directed to notify the beneficiary list, ration availability and ration rates on regular basis. The DDC emphasized on providing adult and computer education to all and also on ensuring cent percent enrolment in schools.The DDC asked all departments to submit periodical reports regarding the developmental works undertaken in the panchayat and undertake activities as per the VDP at the earliest and also adhere to the time schedule. She said that focus should be on improving the quality life in the village by ensuring meaningful interventions aiming at both infrastructural as well human developments.
