Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today called for launching a sustained awareness campaign to ensure that all eligible voters are brought under electoral rolls during the special summary revision beginning September 15.Chairing a review meeting of Electoral Registration Officers here, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on carrying out the revision exercise in a professional, impartial and meticulous manner, so that the roll is updated properly and made error-free. For the purpose, he said all the BLOs must be activated and imparted roll related instructions in advance.He said the SVEEP plan has to be rolled out to aware the public about the importance of enrolment with focus on cross over group for which the college and higher secondary school principals must also be roped in.It was stated in the meeting that all the political parties would be involved to complete the revision exercise transparently. He said the photographs of left over voters would also be collected to make the photo electoral roll 100 %.The meeting also chalked out pre-revision activities plan for implementation in the district.
