Tributes paid to Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary

The Speaker, Lok Sabha, Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, the former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, the Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting, Shri Arun Jaitley and other dignitaries paid homage to the former Prime Minister, late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, on his 71st birth anniversary, at Parliament House, in New Delhi on August 20, 2015.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday led the nation in paying tributes to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi visited Rajiv gandhi's memorial at Vir Bhumi in the capital to pay their tributes.Modi tweeted: "I pay my tributes to India's former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary."Rajiv Gandhi served as India's prime minister from 1984 to 1989.
