Sagar, Ramzan lay foundation stone of Kawari Handwara model village

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar and Minister for CA&PD, Chowdary Mohammad Ramzan jointly laid the foundation stone of new model village at Kawari Handwara today.Officers of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, district administration and other officers were present on the occasion.Addressing a mammoth gathering on the occasion, Mr. Sagar said that a golden era has begun since the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah took over the reigns of Jammu and Kashmir State. He said that the promises made by the government for setting up of model villages was aimed at providing basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps. He directed the authorities of Rural Development to complete the work on model village Kawari Handwara within nine months adding that funds for the purpose have already been released.Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Chowdary Mohammad Ramzan in his address said that the progress registered on development and welfare front is the contribution of Omar Abdullah government. He said crores of rupees were spent to construct roads, bridges besides colleges, schools hospitals and playfields. He said that four middle schools were upgraded in Handwara constituency. He said that Handwara constituency has 48 panchayat halqas and the pace of development has been speeded up in all the areas of the constituency.
