The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has said the present government is committed to bring an era of peace and development in the state to make it a model state in the country.The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a public gathering at Hangal Gund, Kokernag during his tour of the south Kashmir.

MP, Mr Jugal Kishore and MLC, Sufi Yousuf also accompanied the Dy CM.The Deputy Chief Minister said the ever since the government took over it has been its endeavor to accelerate the pace of the developmental works in nook and corner of the state, so that the people get the requisite and necessary facilities. He said the several schemes have also been launched, which would ensure that the socio-economic profile of the people living in rural and far-flung areas get the requisite boost besides providing the much needed employment opportunities to them.

Dr Singh while referring to the challenge of unemployment said the government has formulated comprehensive policy for youth which would ensure that they are provided job avenues. “We want to channelize the creative energies of youth in a proper manner so that they can contribute their bit in nation building”, he maintained.Referring to the new developmental initiatives, the Deputy Chief Minister said that various projects would be undertaken soon including these of national highway which would besides providing good road connectivity to the people of the area and also ensure job opportunities to the local youth. “The Government would also initiate projects in other sectors like health, PDD, R&B, H&UDD so that the State comes up at par with other developed states of the country. This would also ensure in creating necessary job avenues for the youth besides alleviating the socio-economic profile of the people”, he added.Responding to the demands of the people, the Deputy Chief Minister announced Rs 15 lakh for up-gradation and repairs of the lanes and drains of the area.MP, Mr. Jugal Kishore and MLC Sofi Mohammad Yousuf also addressed the gathering.
