Senior PDP leader and Member Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra has asked the State Government to amicably resolve the issues with the dissenting ReTs so that the academics of the students don’t suffer due to the ongoing confrontation.“I hope the Government will take a considerate view of the whole issue and defuse the situation at the earliest so that the students don’t suffer,” Karra said in a statement to KNS.He said due to the restoration of the pre-flood examination calendar, there are hardly few months left for conduct of annual examinations and the situation can’t be allowed to linger on as it will adversely affect the academics of the students.Karra also urged the ReTs to shun the confrontationist path and try to find a middle ground to resolve the situation as it is ultimately the students who are suffering because of the imbroglio. “I hope good sense will prevail on both the Government and the ReTs and instead of stretching the situation too far, they will amicably resolve the crisis,” he said.

Karra said the Government should also relook at the ongoing rationalization process in the Education Department as the move would not only result in winding up of schools, but it could also have long term consequences of abolition of teacher posts with the amalgamation of educational institutions. He said such a move could only aggravate the problem of unemployment in the State. He said instead of shutting down the schools, the government should not only build adequate infrastructure there but also create a conducive academic environment so that more students prefer government-run educational institutions.
