DIPR releases 'The Apple Bloom’

Director Information and Public Relations Dr M. P. Sood today released 'The Apple Bloom', an English quarterly magazine dedicated to scientific management of apple in the State. This magazine has been edited and published by Shri Sanjeev Chauhan, a young progressive horticulturist of the State. While appreciating the efforts of Shri Sanjeev Chauhan, Dr Sood said that the magazine would go a long way in providing scientific technical know-how to the horticulturists for better management of their orchards. He said that the magazine presents an informative and interesting story and glory of apple in the State. He said that the magazine contains several write-ups and articles related to apple farming, common apple disease and its cure, besides an informative article on grafting and pruning.

Dr Sood said that the endeavours of Shri Sanjeev Chauhan would  motive the progressive farmers of the State to adopt innovative and planned orchard management to ensure maximum yield from their orchards. He said that this would not only further strengthen their economy but give a big boost to the overall economy of the State.Shri Sanjeev  Chauhan, Editor-in-Chief of The Apple Bloom thanked the Director for releasing the inaugural issue of the magazine. He said that he would ensure regular publication of the magazine, besides making it more informative and useful. Shri Chauhan said that he had earlier written a 'Book Apple' in Hindi and on the persistent demand of the horticulturists he decided to bring out a magazine in English. He said that this magazine has simultaneously being launched at Jammu and Kashmir as well.Additional Director, information and Public Relations Shri R.S. Negi and other senior officers of the Department were also present on the occasion.
